Yan Maschke holds the position of Executive Coach for Ratliff & Taylor’s Leadership Development practice, bringing 20 years of experience as a global business leader and consultant to the firm.
Born in China, Yan came to the US for graduate studies with a vision of becoming a bridge between the East and the West in global business. Her experience living in both China and the US has informed her unique ability to think critically and cross-culturally, and her post-secondary education and global business experience makes her an expert in world-class business processes and global scale thinking.
Yan came to Cleveland in 2000 to join a premier management consultancy, A.T. Kearney, where she learned to lead while making others feel they are leading, and learned problem solving skills that transcend industries, geographies, and business functions. A 12-year career at Eaton Corporation allowed Yan to lead people, drive results and manage change in a dynamic global environment, with increasing responsibilities developing global sourcing programs, business start-ups in China, acquisition integration, global product line management, and strategy & acquisitions. For 3 years, Yan led and grew a $120M global business for Nordson Corporation where she discovered the intensity of her interest in people development and personal growth.
Yan has a particular interest in coaching high-performing leaders to manage individual and organizational transitions and integrations, and in facilitating strategic planning discussions.
Yan earned a B.A. in Business Administration at Shannxi Normal University in China, an M.A. in International Relations at University of Northern Iowa, and an M.B.A. in Supply Chain Management and Finance at Michigan State University. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through International Coach Federation (ICF) and a Certified Executive Coach (CEC) through MentorCoach (ICF accredited).
In addition to her professional passions, Yan loves to travel internationally and enjoys salsa dancing and hot yoga. She lives in Cleveland with her husband Robert and their 11-year old daughter Siena.
