Culture is the organizational extension of the way leaders build relationships inside a company…and it starts at the very top. Culture is created, sustained and changed from the inside out…the way a leader manages relationships across the organization will define the culture, regardless of whether she wishes it or not.
The CEO and President cannot define a culture for their company that is different from the way they relate to and support their people. They own it…they cannot distance themselves from it.
If you are proud of your company’s culture, keep doing what you are doing. If you want it to change, then you…the leader of your organization…must first change.
