Dr. Velvet Landingham is an Executive Coach with Ratliff & Taylor’s Leadership Development practice. She possesses over 30 years of management consulting experience in both the public and private sectors, including several organizational management studies associated with implementing virtual work as a means to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Velvet’s areas of expertise include executive coaching, leadership development, strategic planning, technology-enhanced teaching and learning, competency assessment and development, emotional intelligence, and appreciative inquiry. She believes we are all fully capable of achieving the change we desire. Through professional, thoughtful, and generative coaching, Velvet helps clients explore their desires and identify paths to exceptionalism.
Velvet brings over 30 years of experience providing executive training and consulting for numerous Fortune 500 companies. She has developed and managed global projects for organizations including Ford, Chrysler, General Dynamics, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Tenet Health Corp. and locally for Jones Day, Summa Health and United Way of Greater Cleveland. Her work focused on the implementation and utilization of information and technologies to solve business problems.
As a Professor of Management and faculty member at Kent State University College of Business and Management, Velvet teaches and mentors students at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Her research accomplishments include publications and presentations in numerous national and international journals and conferences.
While not coaching or teaching, Velvet loves to travel to see friends and she loves movement. You might find her on the dance floor, effortlessly crushing any number of lively dances!
