I stink at receiving constructive feedback from people I value most in my organization. It is my Achilles heel. To become a better leader, I know I must overcome this flaw, so I continue to try new methods and techniques.
People see me trying to get better, so I get a lot of second chances. It’s amazing what employees will do to help a leader when they see you trying to improve…even when you fail.
Don’t try to hide your imperfections. Your employees know all about them anyway. Instead, talk about them and show your team how you are trying to change. They will respect you for doing so and go out of their way to help ensure your success.
Be intentional about it…
